Silent Piano
A Silent Piano, or practice piano, was a small piano keyboard – usually ranging from 2 to 5 octaves – without strings and easily portable. It produced no sound and was used solely for finger training. The Silent Piano of the Athens Conservatoire was made by the French company Mobilgrave Samud and spans two octaves. It dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.
